It can't connect to the SMTP server. Your settings are incorrect or the SMTP server is down.

Try using a locale SMTP server, on the web server, if you can to prevent such problems.

I'm honestly a novice at ASP right now and working with forums, however I have enough experience to get things done.  My problem right now is that my email function keeps crashing my Forum.  Everything else on the forum works great except this one feature and from what I've seen so far I think it has something to do with the functions_send_mail.asp page and some setting that I don't have correct.  I have this forum installed for our Japanese Club for our College and we love it, this is that last major thing I need to get working.  I have contacted our schools tech support and I have the correct mail server options setup and have tried many times but the forum still crashes when I try to send email every time and nothing is actually sent.  Here is a copy of the error I recieve with CDOSYS selected:

CDO.Message.1 error '80040213'

The transport failed to connect to the server.

/japaneseclub/forum/functions/functions_send_mail.asp, line 136

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might fix this problem?  Do I need to have permissions on that file changed on the server?  Do I need to change a line in that file?
