MS SQL Server worksdifferently, it's a server so doesn't have the flat file system ofAccess. This means that when the database is connected to the entiredatabase does not need to be loaded into memory.

Another advantage of SQL Server is that the SQL Server is usuallylocated on a different server to the web server allowing each server todo a dedicated job.
It's fast, it has more features and it's working like a swiss clock.

The probably dumb question is: will the forum start getting slower after the number of messages and users grows a lot, just like the Access one? And why is the SQL version better regarding this problem?
