Try downloading the latest 7.9 version and replace the filelogin_user.asp with the latest version, then logout and login again.This should sortout the problem.

It could be that the last time you logged in on your @home and @workmachines was before you updated to the latest 7.9 version as the autologin cookie is set to last for 1 year. Only now with the latestversion if you login is a new cookie and code created.

And that's exactly what I mean.
The auto log-in works on both machines. In the evening @home and during day-time @work.

On both machines I bookmarked the latest topics page and I never need to log in . . on both machines, because I am logged in straight away.

And th�ts what I thought should be prohibited.

Weird issue, on the website where I run the forum, it really works that way. If I log in on one machine, I am automatically logged out on the other and vice versa.
That's why I asked.

Being that HTTP is a stateless protocol I think doing such a thing would be quite difficult.

There was an update that means each time you login now a new user code is created and the tracking cookie is updated.

This means that the auto login feature will not run if you are using mutiple machines.

Thought I recalled there being something to prevent you from being logged in as the same user - at the same time. Maybe it was a mod?

Not quite sure I unhderstand what you are trying to say.

But if you mean you can login from two different PC's as the same userthen that is how the forum is designed to work, otherwise you wouldneed to have mutiple accounts if you use more than one PC.

Mod's: I don't think it is wise to publish this topic!

BUT

I thought and understood you made a security patch to avoid that people log in from two different pc's by means of the / a cookie, well . . .

Now I am from my home pc logged in as eftie, and i know I manage to do the same from my work pc tomorrow . . . . I do so for several weeks now.
I thought: just to let you know . . and you know: "I come in peace" but is there something not OK?
