The next change to the database will bewith version 8.0<br>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forums.webwiz.net/member_profile.asp?PF=16949">voip-dude</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 11390<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 02&nbsp;August&nbsp;2004 at 10:14am<br /><br /><DIV>I did a double-upgrade by moving from 7.7 to 7.9 and moved from Win2K to Win2k3.&nbsp; </DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Also, because I couldn't figure out how to easily import the SQL 2000 tables and stored procedures from 7.7 to 7.9 I just stopped the SQL service on both machines, then copied Forums_Data.MDF and Forums_Data.LDF from the c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Data folder and restarted the service.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Now I am hoping that the database structure hasn't changed from 7.7 to 7.9.&nbsp; The forums appear to be working OK, but I know there must be a better way of migrating.&nbsp; </DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Also, for all I know, I'm missing a new field in 7.9 since I didn't use the msSQL_server_setup.asp file to create/setup the 7.9 database.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Let me know if </DIV><DIV>a) I need to recreate my database to support new 7.9 fields</DIV><DIV>b) How I should migrate from one SQL Server to another in the future.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Thanks!</DIV>]]>
