They get the error message saying there was a problem activating their membership and to contact the administrator. Which they then do, and I manually activate them.</P><P>What I discovered was the following...</P><P>The link comes through the email&nbsp;with the username+code, such as...</P><FONT size=2><P>.../activate.asp?ID=JimP7B5C57ZD12</P><P>You click it and it gives the error.</P><P>Then, I downloaded the database, and check the tblAuthor for User_code and in this case it would show up different...</P><FONT size=2><P><FONT color=#0000cc>JimPF3838CF18E - In the Users_code field.</FONT></P><P>So you can see how they are different:</P><FONT size=2><P><FONT color=#0000cc>JimP7B5C57ZD12 - how it was sent in the activation email<BR></FONT></FONT><FONT color=#0000cc>JimPF3838CF18E - what it should be (as in the database)</FONT></P></FONT><P>The server is standard Windows 2000 Server with IIS5, using CDONTS as the mailer.</P><P>This one has me stumped!</P><P>Thanks, and thanks for a great forum also,</P><P>Steve</P></FONT>]]>
