    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forums.webwiz.net/member_profile.asp?PF=9429">bruce</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 12725<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 28&nbsp;November&nbsp;2004 at 11:03am<br /><br />MIDesigns, I'm having that very same issue.&nbsp; My site has recentlyout grown the capabilities of access and I'm getting a lot of time outerrors, exactly as you described.&nbsp; I really think that your servertech support is right.&nbsp; It is most likely not a server issue andits probably not a code issue, WWF code is pretty tight.&nbsp; I'vebeen using WWF for a long time now and I have not come accross a codeissue yet.<br><br>One way I found to quickly recover from the time out errors was todelete the yourforum.ldb file.&nbsp; I've found that after deletingthat file, the forum starts working again.&nbsp; The problem is thattoo many concurrent users are hitting your access db at the same timeand access is choking.&nbsp; I'm seeing the problem when I get around40 or more users online at the same time.<br><br>I'm in the process of converting my access db to SQL but I'm not havingvery good luck so far.&nbsp; What I've done is setup up a SQL testforum to work out any conversion bugs.&nbsp; Once I get it all workingthen I'll make the switch and I expect that it will run great.&nbsp;This is a great forum and it would be worth the effort to make theconversion.<br><br>Hope that helps.<br>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forums.webwiz.net/member_profile.asp?PF=1">WebWiz-Bruce</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 12725<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 27&nbsp;November&nbsp;2004 at 5:13am<br /><br />This is common with a shared hosting web environment.<br><br>It means that the server is overloaded, or there are sites on theserver using to many resources, thus it runs out of memory and runsvery slow giving time-out errors.<br><br>The problem usually goes away after a few hours when the server resets itself and frees up memory.<br><br>If you start getting this problem often and your host won't do anything about it then it's time to change host.<br><br>Also if you are using Access and forums database is getting large andyou have allot of visitors this will mean your site will require allotof server resources to run and you should consider looking into usingMS SQL server.<br>]]>

You can change this limit by specifying a new value for the property Server.ScriptTimeout or by changing the value in the IIS administration tools. /forum/default.asp</P><DIV></DIV><P>Have any of you encountered this before?&nbsp;Server tech support denies its their issue. I was actively working on the nav include, skins file, css file, header, footer and default today - could it be something I did that caused the error?</P><DIV></DIV>The site is up and running again, all things normal - just would appreciate some insight into the potential cause for the error.<DIV></DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Thanks</DIV><DIV></DIV><DIV></DIV><DIV></DIV><DIV></DIV><DIV></DIV><DIV></DIV><DIV>Tige</DIV></FONT>]]>
