Say you don't install IIS or the SMTP server, and you just want a dedicated mail server with Exchange, don't it install it's own SMTP server?

If it doens't what kind of e-mail server is that, and if it does, so why does it has to hijack IIS own SMTP server?

I use Rockliffe MailSite e-mail server (www.rockliffe.com), awsome package, all your needs are met, very secure, lots of functionality, they even supply you with a webmail ASP application so you can integrate into your site to check all your mail boxes, and all that cheaper than Exchange.
