Author: Richard B
Subject: 13073
Posted: 21 December 2004 at 11:43am

I've been tearing my hair out for the last 2 days over the well documented CDate problem. Located in the UK I've tried setting the LCID to 1033 and 2057 in common.asp, I've tried changing it in my global.asa file. I've even spent the obligatory 1 hour on hold to our host's technical support helpdesk and been told that their Servers are all in the UK and set to 1033 - he even went away to check.

I was getting to the point where I felt I had 2 choices - different host or different forum software until searching through the old posts on here I found a comment by boRg about 1and1 being a German company. Sure enough changing the LCID to 1031 fixed the problem.

So apart from thanks to boRg, the moral of the story is obviously don't believe everything your hosting companies support staff tell you. They may want you to think their servers are somewhere they are not.
