Thanks boRg and dj air for the tips...It's fixed now...As it turns out....I set the mail configuration settings for CDOSYS  

Seems I had a few settings in the mail server in the IIS settings not set correctly...Now the PM's and the internal Email client seems to be working great

im 99.99% sure its not a permssions problem, have you got the / a SMTPserver runniong on your server or have access to a running server. asit looks you don't have one on there or your settings aren't correct.

have you installed the SMTP server as i don't think it comes already installed.

Hmmm

The forum is installed on my own server...Running XP Pro...Could this be a permissons issue within IIS???

its to do with the email setting/ feature.

make sure your host supports the selected comonent and that thesettings are correct (these are sorted in the email configure areawithin the forum admin area.)

Hi all...
I have noticed this error when sending PM's
 

HTTP 500.100 - Internal Server Error - ASP error
Internet Information Services

Technical Information (for support personnel)

  • Error Type:
    Server object, ASP 0177 (0x800401F3)
    Invalid class string
    /forum/functions/functions_send_mail.asp, line 153

  • Browser Type:
    Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1)

  • Page:
    POST 136 bytes to /forum/pm_post_message.asp

  • POST Data:

The strange thing is....It does not seem to effect the message....the messages seem to go through fine...I guess it is more of a nuisance that anything else.

I have also heard tales of the same type error while submitting posts..But i personally have not had this problem yet....
 
So any ideas what this error is?    And what can be done to get rid of it
