it maybe a corrupt file.

i would recommend try CDOSYS instead of CDONTS as its not supported by Microsoft anymore.

also CDOSYS is the upgrade from CDONTS. as is more reliable and works a lot better.

apart from that im not sure what be the problem, it looks like from theerror message that the CDONTS component is not installed on thewebserver.

uif your on a Windows 2003 server, CDONTS is not installed by defauly.so unless the host installed it, it wont be on the system , as said tryCDOSYS if possible.

Hi
I have just relocated my exsisting webwiz forum to another windows server that has all the required components installed - apparently!
 
Everything's ok apart from the cdonts object is not running properly. If a member has an email sent when someone replies to his/her post in the forum the following error occurs:
 

Server object error 'ASP 0177 : 800401f3'

Server.CreateObject Failed

/hollysforum/functions/functions_send_mail.asp, line 153

800401f3

Apparently this is not the object I should be using as it's the 2000 version where my new hosting server is using 2003. How do I get round this, do you have an update I can overwrite the file with for the later email object. I'm not really a developer and really don't want to lose the posts to date.
