Author: tommybrc
Subject: 15162
Posted: 20 May 2005 at 9:37am

Is there any way to configure the forum so that all the files that where attached to a speccific post are allso deleted when the post is deleted?? I think this should be possible to do.

On the other hand I have the same problem when sombody starts a post, makes uploads, but finaly does not "realy post" the post. In this case the uploaded files stay in the server, allthough they will never be used. But I gess this problem is much more difficult to resolve, since I can not quite imagin how the forum could control this if for example the user directly closes the browser. Any way some basic things could be controled, for example I think that if the user clics on "Clear Form" all images and files uploaded for that post should be deletet from the server. I realy don't know if it is allso possible to control all ways of exiting the "post_message_form.asp" with asp code (like an OnExit event), but if something like that exists, it would be a great chance to control if the user confirmed the post or not, and if not, to delete the uploaded files.

Well, may be I am being to pretentious.. .. but I hope the idear is taken in consideration..

Regards..
