Well, thousands of successful wwf implementations would indicate the problem is at your end, not within wwf.
 
This is almost always a permissions issue. Be sure that the MDB file is in a folder where IUSR_<machineName> and IWAM_<machineName> have read/write access (because the anonymous user needs to create an .LDB file when modifying the database).
If you are using Windows Authentication, make sure all authenticated users belong to a group that has read/write permissions on the folder where the database exists, and if you can't use a group, step through each user and check that they have sufficient privileges. 
 
Also be sure that the MDB file itself isn't marked as read-only,
 
You may also see this error if the MDB file has been corrupted during upload. Delete any existing .LDB files and re-upload.
 
Asp files that access the .MDB may also have been corrupted during upload resulting in malformed sql statements which could cause such an error to occur.

We are trying to help, and I daresay you will find more help here thanmost other communities. I have instructed you on what you need to relayto your host. As a matter of fact, if you want me to setup your forum,then I will be glad to do that if you allow me FTP access and contactwith your host or their support system.

There are thousands of WWG forums running just fine. I can set one upin about 10 mins (excluding upload time) with just about any host thatruns IIS (Windows). If you feel that you must use another forum, thenunfortunately that may be the case.

This error means that your database does not have WRITE permissions forthe IUSR_machine name account in IIS (Internet Information Services).If you are placing it in a directory which your host has specifiedWRITE permissions (ie a database folder), then for some reason theuploaded file is not inheriting permissions.

They need to set WRITE permissions for the IUSR_machinename account tothe directory where you are placing your database. They also may needto "reset permissions on all child objects..." in the Advanced tab ofthe permissions dialog box.

I have searched these forums as per your request and followed almost all the examples/suggestions laid out.

I have tried the physical path idea... no joy.

In trying all the different ways I have re uploaded the file numerous times...

ok you may need to use a physical path ie D:\domain\database\wwf_forum.mdb

note thats a fonction/example.

you will have to ask your host for the physical path. if the path isthen correct and within that folder it shoud be ok, if not try a reupload. as it may have become corrupt during the ftping

Does your host require to put databases into a special folder are are you free to chose any folder you like?

It is probably either a permissions or a locktype problem.
