the bandwidth wont change as its lcally done.

it will perform better once its been done , and the forum has hadactivity. as the indexs etc are used and make the forum run faster.

also it can cope with high activity, big forums also.

access is likly to corrupmore than SQL, and also access being a flatfile it has the whole thing loaded into memory so can slow the wholeserver, where as SQL loads whats needed.

SQL also has stored procedures that increase the pertformance of the forum.

if you are looking at being an active, a few forum members at anyonetime, have a big post count etc. then i woul suggest SQL version itsbetter in the long run.

Could someone explain the benifits of SQL over Access please (in idiots terms if possible Embarrassed)
 
Would it reduce the bandwidth I use ? Increase speed ? etc etc.
