The email address must be a "real" email address as the forums checks for validity. I use the mailenable email server, and I spent 12 hours re-writing the functions_send_mail.asp to work with my email server.

I have the same problem, this is the display messege when i put other email:

Persits.MailSender.4 error '800a0006'

550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for emailexample@gmail.com

There are some posts in the mods forum on how to modify the code to allow SMTP authentication.

I am currently working on adding this to the next version.

I have a windows 2003 box running ASPEmail and Jmail. We run Mailenable and have SMTP authenticaiton for relay turned on. I have allowed localhost to relay email....but if I email people OUT of the domain the forums are run on nothing gets out.
