I am having a related issue. I "think" I did what you said above withthe disabling the application variables, as now the "overlapping" isgone. I am still having an issue of the administrator is unable toaccess the admin area, although it show up in his menu.

When I try to access it I get, Sorry, only members with sufficient permission can access this page.

I'm having some problems using two forums.  It seems that things seem to overlap sometimes.  Can you give me more specific information on exactly what I need to do in order to make these work together?  Thanks.
 
Oh yeah, I'm using v7.96 if that matters.

Yes it is possiable.

If you are running them in there own sites and/or sub domains then nothing needs to be done.

But if it is on the same site or sharing an application pool then youwill need to disable the application variables by editing thecommon.asp file and turn off the active users feature from the adminarea.
