    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forums.webwiz.net/member_profile.asp?PF=1">WebWiz-Bruce</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 16784<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 03&nbsp;October&nbsp;2005 at 8:43am<br /><br />MS Access has allot of limitations and although I have seen web wizforums with over 8,000 members and 50,000 posts running on Access itdepends very much on the environment it is running in.<br><br>Connecting to Access databases from an ASP page usually uses the ADOpool, on most servers this is limited to 20 shared between all sites onthe server, so can course problems on busy servers using allot ofdatabases.<br><br>Other problems with Access is that because it is a flat file it tendsto get large very quick and requires the whole flat file to be loadedinto the servers memory every time it is accessed.<br><br>I often find that on busy sites because Access was designed as adesktop database it can not cope with the demands placed on it by aforum and often becomes corrupted and data can be lost.<br><br>I always recommend that unless you have a handful of users to use the MS SQL Server version.<br>]]>
