It could be somthing to do with firewall and/or proxy servers you maybe using.

Something like these maybe sending mutiple requests to the server thuscoursing the web server to call the file mutiple times, each timerunning the file so the view number is incremented.

Again your log files may help here.

Try posting a new post, and if it increments by more than 1 have a lookin your sites log files to see if mutiple requests are sent to theserver for that page.

We've tested on a number of occassions, and it appears to be a valid issue. I guess it's possible a crawler is hitting my site, and causing the problem, but it is too re-produceable for me to chalk it up to chance. Not sure how this can happen as the code runs in a procedule way; whenthe page is loaded it reads in the total views, adds 1 to it, thensaves it back to the database again.

The only way it would go up faster is if others are looking at the page or you are hitting refresh.

We have a problem with the number of views reported on our forums. If you post a new post, the number of views seems to increment by 2-3 for each view until the number of views crests 10. Then it increments by 1.

Anyone else seen this?
