OK, I finally got it. Man this was a hard one to figure out. This is a very powerful program.

It WILL send an email if a new topic is created.

Instead of subscribing to a particular topic, in which case you only getnotified of replies, you need to subscribe to an entire forum, you willthen get an email notification of both new topics and replies in thatforum.

To see this in action, click on your members settings icon at the top of this page, then select email subscriptions.

From the email subscriptions page you can subscribe to an entire forum,which means you get notifications of both new topics and replies.

OK, I must be missing something. The program will send an email when I REPLY to a post, but I cannot get it to send an email when a NEW TOPIC is created.

OK, I understand. We  receiving emails when a reply is made, but does this send a message when a "newtopic" is created?

You need to enable email notification from the admin section.

Then any uses who want to receive email notifications need to subscribeto that forum through there members control panel settings.

I'm experimenting with the forum inside a gov. firewall and this request is needed. I want each member of a specific forum to receive an email when I NEWTOPIC is added. The forum will be used by managers and they want to know when another managr ask a question. Is there a setting that will accomplish this?
