    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forums.webwiz.net/member_profile.asp?PF=1">WebWiz-Bruce</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 18382<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 14&nbsp;February&nbsp;2006 at 12:01pm<br /><br />To cut down on database calls web wiz forums does use application variables, with in the next version 8 cutting down db calls to under 3 on most pages.<br><br>To know the amount of RAM used depends very much on your server setup and the type of database used.<br><br>If you use the forum in it's own application pool then you will use more memory as all the drivers, objects, db pools, etc. will need loading into a separate memory location. However, if you are running in the same app pool as the Snitz forum the amount of extra RAM usage will probably not be noticeable, if at all, as they would be using the same drivers, etc.<br>]]>
