I'm trying to remember how I did it in version 7.x, but I believe that a session cookie is set to be able to calculate the time span to show topics within.

If this is not working it could be an issue with cookies, or a corrupted file on your forum.

I have a member of www.rarebird.org that cannot see old posts.  I have two years of posts that I can see, but the member cannot.  Here is what he is saying when the member selects "All posts" from the drop down box :
 
 
"OK; but when I do this I get only two pages, going back to 1 Jan--same thing I
get when I select "from the last six months" or "from the last year." Within
two seconds after the window shows "All," it changes to "For the last two
months" without my touching a key, and that's what I get."
When the member selects "All posts" here is what he says:
 
All I see, no matter what I select, is "Page 1 [or 2] of 2 Next" And it goes
to Jan 1 and no earlier. If I select "for the last year", the entry changes to
"for the last two months" and that's what I get; same with "last six months."
 
Any ideas?
