The SQL Server version of version 8 was designed on SQL Server 2005, so there should be no issues using SQL Server 2005.

The only reason I can see why you would get the error above is if you have a corrupted file, try reuploading the original files again.

Hello everybody :) I have found that WWF 7.x works almost perfectly with SQL Server 2005. There are some errors in it, but for the most part it works nicely.
 
When installing WWF 8 on a new windows 2003 box with only SQL Server 2005 installed, well ... the installation works, but when actually going to the forums, it gives the following error:
 
Server Error in Forum Application
An error initialising Global Variables from database.
Please contact the forum administrator.

Support Error Code:- err_SQLServer_getForumConfigurationData()_get_global_variables
File Name:- global_variables.asp

Error details:-
ADODB.Recordset
Operation is not allowed when the object is closed.
 
 
 
 
 
Please note, the ip/login/password is valid. So my question is .. is WWF not compatible with SQL Server 2005? WWF 7 works perfectly, only 8 gives the problem.
 
(edit): I fixed the error message, I pasted wrong one before.
