If they have updated mySQL to 4.1 they haven't updated the version of mySQL on the server you are using.

The mySQL version number listed in the error is mysqld-4.0.26

Contact your hosting company about this.

I am getting an error with 8.01 using mySQL. It seems to be saying that my host is not using v4.1 yet my hosting company advised late last year that they upgraded to mySQL v4.1.
 
The err msg is:
Server Error in Forum Application
An error has occured while executing SQL query on database.
Please check that the MySQL Server version is 4.1 or above.
Please contact the forum administrator.
