Version 8 does have more security within it to combat spammers and the next version will also include CAPTCHA for Guest posting.

But it sounds to me like it's a permissions issue if the person is posting as a Guest, as you must have Guest posting enabled somewhere in your permissions system.

Does version 8 help eliminate spam? I'm using 7.1, and a new type of spam has shown up. It seems the spam is bypassing the "registration" part, and posting as "guests" even though I have the forum set for registered users only. It's extremely annoying as the poster spams 25-30 at a time.
