I figured it out before the message above was approved... I thought I had already set the permissions, but it turns out I copied the DB to another directory which reset the permissions.

This is a permissions problem.

The error means that you do not have the correct permissions set on the server to write to the database.

Contact your web hosts and get them to set the correct permissions on the database for you to be able to write to it.

Hello,

I just tried using the member API in the new version. I created session variables in my code with the username and password as specified. I also changed the variable in the functions_member_API code to true.

However, it's not working. When I navigate to the forum when I'm logged in on my website, I get this error:

Server Error in Forum Application
An error has occured while writing to the database.
Please contact the forum administrator.

Support Error Code:- err_Access_existingMemberAPI()_add_new_user
File Name:- functions_member_API.asp

Error details:-
Microsoft JET Database Engine
Operation must use an updateable query.

My forum tests were working before this point. Any ideas what's causing the error?
