    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forums.webwiz.net/member_profile.asp?PF=1">WebWiz-Bruce</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 20597<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 10&nbsp;July&nbsp;2006 at 9:48am<br /><br />That is true of the SQL Server and mySQL version, but the Access version on the download page has the following:-<br><br><span ="smText">Please note: - MS Access is only capable of supporting small forumswith a handful of users, if your hosting supports it, use the morepowerful MS SQL Server or MySQL database management system's.<br><br></span>Once Access is corrupted there is little that can be done to recover it if the Tools built into MS Access don't work.<br><br>Access is simply an office desktop file, and sometimes can be quite surprising with some users reporting that they are using the Access version with over 200,000 posts and 10,000+ members, and many users will argue that Access is great and can support large forums.<br><br>However, I have found from 5 years of supporting this software that Access does occasionally become corrupted, also add to the fact that many web hosts will suspend your hosting account, stating you are using to many server resources as soon as your Access database gets to 10Mb, I do try a persuade people not to use the Access version if they expect more than a handful of users, however, this seems to fail on deaf ears.<br>]]>
