So far as I know, date/time is hard coded into the phsical circuitry based upon the clock chips and is based upon the western calendar by ISO convention.<br><br>There's more to it than just changing the year. Other calendars use different methods of counting the number of days in a year, when the year starts, 10... 12... or lunar months, etc. Some have days that don't belong to a month.
