    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forums.webwiz.net/member_profile.asp?PF=1">WebWiz-Bruce</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 21027<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 17&nbsp;August&nbsp;2006 at 9:38am<br /><br />This is the problem with Access, because it is not a real database, and simply a flat office desktop file it simply isn't up to the task of being the backend to a forum with more than a handful of hits per day. <br><br>The only reason why it is supported on Web Wiz Forums is because people demand it, but it is hidden at the bottom of the download page and does have warnings NOT to use it if you possibly can because of this limitation.<br><br>If compacting and repairing the database is not working, then sadly it looks like your Access database is not recoverable.<br><br>You may need to start again, this time I would suggest to use the SQL Server or mySQL database backend, which are real database management systems and more than capable of handing many 1000's of simultaneous users.<br>]]>

Now it says that the password is wrong, but it isnt!<br><br>If i use "forgot your password" i cannot generate a new password, because of course the mail server isnt yet configured.<br><br>Here's the error message:<br><br><font color="#0000ff"><strong>Server Error in Forum Application</strong><br>An error has occured while sending an email.<br>Please contact the forum administrator.<br><br><strong>Support Error Code:-</strong> err_Access_send_mail_footer<br><strong>File Name:-</strong> functions_send_mail.asp<br><br><strong>Error details:-</strong><br>Microsoft VBScript runtime error</font><br><font color="#0000ff">ActiveX component can't create object</font><br><br>How can i manually set the mail server? editing some code page or the database?<br><br>Pls help :(<br><br>EDIT: hum, i've just noticed i get the exact same error when i try to register a new user, it tries to send the confirmation mail but fails again...is the database still corrupted?<br><span style="font-size:10px"><br /><br />Edited by HariSeldon - 16&nbsp;August&nbsp;2006 at 3:02pm</span>]]>
