    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forums.webwiz.net/member_profile.asp?PF=1">WebWiz-Bruce</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 21083<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 20&nbsp;August&nbsp;2006 at 8:44am<br /><br />What you would normally do when transferring an SQL Server database is to use Enterprise Manager of SQL Server Management Studio to transfer the database to the new server.<br><br>What your host have done is backedup the SQL Server database and just given you a back up file.<br><br>If you can't use Enterprise Manager of SQL Server Management Studio to transfer the database, the you will need to use Enterprise Manager of SQL Server Management Studio, login into your database and select 'Restore' the database from the backup file.<br><br>If you are having problems with this it maybe worth asking your new web host to do this restore for you.<br>]]>

(nd, i cannot rename, or name the db the provider gives me)</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>So i can navigate to the CSV import wizard, then it goes to "Select the table into which you want to import data :"</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>So as I have one .bak, I dont have sep tables to install, and i cannot click multiple tables.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>My intention is to be happy about transfering the old forum tothe new server, get it working, then upgrade to version 8.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Any help appreciated.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>MM</DIV>]]>
