    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forums.webwiz.net/member_profile.asp?PF=1">WebWiz-Bruce</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 21201<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 03&nbsp;September&nbsp;2006 at 11:20am<br /><br />I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work as I used mySQL 5 as a localhost database server on my laptop when I developed the mySQL version and it worked fine.<br><br>I would check your mySQL 5 is working correctly and allows TCP/IP connections.<br><br>Also, if you are running your own dedicated windows 2003 web edition I would use the free SQL Server 2005 Express instead as in tests I found you get improved performance over mySQL 5. This site currently uses the Express version on the same platform.<br>]]>
