    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forums.webwiz.net/member_profile.asp?PF=1">WebWiz-Bruce</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 21259<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 11&nbsp;September&nbsp;2006 at 2:35pm<br /><br />It's very tricky to tell with Access as it is a flat file so it's like storing your data in a text file rather than a database, the problem then is that it's very easy for the data in the flat file to become corrupted.<br><br>I would only every recommend using Access if you have no other choice.<br><br>If you do decide to use Access, if you open the file in MS Access on your PC there is a compact and repair tool in the tools menu which does often fix issues with corruptions in the Access file, also you should make backups of your Access database file incase you can not recover from a corruption to the Access file.<br>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forums.webwiz.net/member_profile.asp?PF=1">WebWiz-Bruce</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 21259<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 11&nbsp;September&nbsp;2006 at 8:39am<br /><br />I have had reports from people that they have the Access version with over 200,000 posts and over 15,000 users.<br><br>However, Access is an office flat file and not a real database management system so with the amount of read and writes required for a forum can easily get overloaded and become corrupted.<br><br>I would not run an Access database for a forum above 10Mb and if expevct more than a handful of users per day I would look at using the SQL Server or mySQL versions.<br>]]>
