    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forums.webwiz.net/member_profile.asp?PF=1">WebWiz-Bruce</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 21364<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 22&nbsp;September&nbsp;2006 at 11:48am<br /><br />I had this problem before and it took many hours of looking through sites on Google to find the problem.<br><br>This error can occur if you change the name of your computer, SQL Server 2005 can hold the old name still and thus get the permissions error you mention when running things like delete commands on the database.<br><br>I did finally after many hours of searching found a solution, but it didn't work very well, it involved calling the sp_addlinkedserver stored procedure with a command to link the new computer name.<br><br>However, I still had issues and finally sorted it by uninstalling SQL Server and then reinstalling it.<br>]]>
