ASP is written by Microsoft for Windows IIS web server.

You can get 3rd party products like ChilliAsp to run ASP on Unix systems but it doesn't fully support ASP so doesn't work with Web Wiz Forums.

If you are using a Unix system you are better of using PHP, on a windows system then you are better using ASP. As they are both designed for different platforms so you are best using the one designed for your platform.
