    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forums.webwiz.net/member_profile.asp?PF=1">WebWiz-Bruce</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 21640<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 18&nbsp;October&nbsp;2006 at 9:12am<br /><br />When you create forums (or edit them) you can set permissions one of these is for users to be able to create topics as calendar events.<br><br>Once this is enabled, when you post in a forum that allows calendar events for your group you have an option to set an event date for that topic.<br><br>This then means that the topic is created as a calendar event, which anyone with Access to that forum can see in the calendar and by clicking the event they are taken to the event topic where they can post on that event.<br><br>This allows the calendar system to be part of the forum system rather than a bolt on extra with many forums, this also allows better performance of the forum engine.<br>]]>
