I keep getting this error when I try to create the tables in the empty database. I have double checked my connection string several times and know it is correct. I have several other mysql databases that work correctly so I'm not sure what is wrong. <DIV><FONT size=2><strong></strong></FONT>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV><FONT size=2><strong>Error Connecting to database on mySQL Server<BR><BR></strong>Check the following is set up and correct:- <BR><BR>mySQL Server User Name<BR>mySQL Server Password<BR>Name of the mySQL Server<BR>Database name set up by you on the server<BR>Empty Database set up by you on the mySQL Server<BR><BR>Check also that you have entered the correct details in the file 'database_connection.asp' found in the 'database' directory.</FONT></DIV><DIV><FONT size=2></FONT>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV><FONT size=2>Solved the problem Thanks for your help</FONT></DIV><span style="font-size:10px"><br /><br />Edited by wrc2376 - 26&nbsp;November&nbsp;2006 at 9:10pm</span>]]>

It only asks for a different one because sometimes hosts will give two usersnames, one for general use and a more relaxed one for creating and altering tables. In your case you only have the one set so just use that.]]>

My hosting provider only allows the one user name and password for the database so I am unable to create the tables and such. Is there any way around this so I can continue with the install?]]>
