    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forums.webwiz.net/member_profile.asp?PF=1">WebWiz-Bruce</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 22308<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 02&nbsp;February&nbsp;2007 at 8:19am<br /><br />When using SQL Express you need to make sure it is installed in mixed mode, by default it has external connections disabled, so best to set it up on the same localhost server as your web site is on.<br><br>By default SQL Express installed with the instance name SQLEXPRESS so if installed locally you would use the following to connect to SQL Express:-<br><br>localhost/SQLEXPRESS<br><br>Note the /SQLEXPRESS part, this is required as the default SQL Express install is installed with this instance name, also when connecting this often needs to be in capitals.]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forums.webwiz.net/member_profile.asp?PF=25035">windigo</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 22308<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 02&nbsp;January&nbsp;2007 at 1:37am<br /><br />I'm using IE7 and I opened the browser, went to -&gt;file -&gt;open, and browsed to my file.&nbsp; I clicked on it and it loaded it into my browser.&nbsp; I expected it to run as any asp script would, but instead, I just got the text of the asp file.&nbsp; When I hit refresh, I was then presented with the asp file as I described in my original post.&nbsp; Yes asp, and asp.net 2.0 are installed and working fine because I have a bunch of asp forms that submit and I am also using persists aspemail and it is working fine on all of my pages where I use it.<DIV></DIV><DIV></DIV>Do I need to do something like <a href="http://localhost/path/database" target="_blank">http://localhost/path/database</A> setup file?<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forums.webwiz.net/member_profile.asp?PF=25035">windigo</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 22308<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 01&nbsp;January&nbsp;2007 at 7:17pm<br /><br />I am in need of some help.&nbsp; I am changing to a new server, a win2003 server machine.&nbsp; The peson who set up the last machine is no longer with me.&nbsp; I downloaded the 8.03, liked it, had this other person install it, and registered it.&nbsp; Now, going to a new machine, I don't know what he did and I'm trying to do it by myself.&nbsp; There is no data on the other machine we need so I downloaded the new 8.05 and was going to install it on the new server.&nbsp;&nbsp;I have downloaded SQL Express and installed it.&nbsp; That seems to&nbsp;be working just fine, although I think that is where most of my problems begin.&nbsp; I changed the database_connection.asp script to: <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Server = our&nbsp;IP of the server</DIV><DIV>Username =&nbsp;what the other person used&nbsp; (I remember him saying that was a generic name)</DIV><DIV>Password =&nbsp; (same rationale)</DIV><DIV>Database = meddir_forum</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>When trying to run the msSQL_server_setup.asp script,&nbsp;all I get is the text of the script in my browser.&nbsp; When I hit refresh, I get a page with a&nbsp;3 field form to fill in with the last field being DBO.&nbsp; I put in the&nbsp;user name and password fields and hit enter but get an error message.&nbsp; </DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>How do I get my tables setup so I can configure the forum.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Thanks</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Terry&nbsp;</DIV><span style="font-size:10px"><br /><br />Edited by windigo - 01&nbsp;January&nbsp;2007 at 7:37pm</span>]]>
