I have exactly the same error and would desperately like to get this fixed.

I wish I could move but I have to many websites and databases and emails setup with my host it would be very hard to move somewhere else...

I've tried to include the old upload files so I can use pure asp upload but I keep getting

I know the Name is not redefined in the old script but somewhere in version 8 there is a class which is clashing with pure upload ....

if anyone have any ideas it would be great to change the forum so we can use no component upload ....

Dundas has a self install file and takes less than 2 minutes to install on the server.

It sounds like your web host is not very good, all decent web hosts have upload components installed on the web server and to ask for $200 to install a free upload component which takes less than 2 minutes to install is a complete con.

I would certainly move to a decent web host.

Hi
Is there a way to bypass the upload components and use the pure asp upload instead like it was with older version of the forum.

My host doesn't have any of the components used with version 8 installed and it took me almost a week to make them understand what the hell is going on, after many hours on the phone to their support they finally said they would install one so we can use the upload function with this forum,
they came back and asked me where could they download it from and how about copy rights and on and on and on...
I send them all the info they need and where to download the files from, after two days the came back and told me they would install dundas for me providing I pay them $100 an hour for installing the component,
after many long talks I agreed to pay but they turned around and said it might take few hours... so I told them to shove it where the sun doesn't shine
believe it or not I host with on of the largest companies in the US ( www.ait.com) and they don't have asp upload component installed ...

so if anyone  know  how to bypass the upload components please let me know



Borg can you please include the pure asp upload ( no component ) as an option for people like me who are stuck with an idiot of a host ...
