Author: DTerry
Subject: 23125
Posted: 16 April 2007 at 8:40pm

Hi All,

I am just starting to test the use of WWF as an internal message board system at a boarding school that I work at, and I have a couple of questions.....

1) Is there any way of shutting down the forums automatically between certain hours (eg 11pm and 6am), or even better, to stop messages being posted between those hours. Our students all have laptops and network connectivity in their rooms and if the forums are open, they will use them! From a quick look at the code I am guessing that I can add a small section into "common.asp", but can anyone confirm that this will catch all occurences of access to the forums (even if students have direct links into specific topics etc)

2) Is there a way of automatically disabling specific fields within the user profile sections, I know I could edit register.asp and various other files, but ideally I would like to do this without modifying various other files (I tested Snitz and this did allow this feature, but I prefer WebWiz at the moment)

3) Is there a way of showing uploaded (and linked) files differently, eg I would like to show a small Excel Icon for Excel files, and a Word Icon for Word Documents etc - again I guess this could be done with a few small mods.

Thanks in advance for your help

Cheers

Darren
