Yeah, Novell uses the NDS for logins. It should be feasable to get the login info, the API definately exisits. Thanks. We do have other ASP pages that authenticate. So we will look through the code and see what we are doing. If you are interested, I will respond with our findings and code.

It does look like the way ASP gets the user data from the OS is not compatible with the login system you are using.

As far as I recall Novell always used it's own login system. The only option is to have a look through Google and see if there is away for ASP to read in the login details from Novell.

If you could post the detailed error message it may give a better idea as to what the issue maybe.

ASP is only able to get a very limited amount of data from the server, and can not pass any information back.

I get the following error thrown when we turn this on:
 
err_SQLServer_windowsAuthentication()_get_AUTH_USER
 
Could this be due to the fact that our workstations are not in our domain?  We cannot have them in the domain due to some software issues with novell's zenworks application.
 
What about LDAP ?
