You can now set this on a forum by forum baises.

So for a busy forum you can set it to 1 month, and on a quite forum 1 year.

Go to the 'Forum Administration' page and click on one of the forums to edit the details for it, you will then see the option there.

How does he do for the messages not to be extinguished after a time that nobody post anything? 
 
In the version 7 it was enough to go in the administration area, to Click in Administration of the Forum, to select the wanted forum and to change the option Show Topics in the Last for All, but in the version 8 he doesn't have the option All.
 
Which option should select for not losing the old messages?
