Sorry it took so long for me to get back to this thread, but I got it a motorcycle accident on the way home and have been at home healing a bit.&nbsp; I broke both my hands in several places, and my wrist needed to be put back together with a plate and screws.&nbsp; I'm working again with the help of Dragon Naturally Speaking and the few good fingers I have left.<br><br>So, is there any way to find out if I did not install SQL in mixed mode?&nbsp; I don't remember that option, but it's been awhile since I installed it.&nbsp;&nbsp;  <br><br><br><table width="99%"><tr><td class="BBquote"><img src="forum_images/quote_box.png" title="Originally posted by -boRg-" alt="Originally posted by -boRg-" style="vertical-align: text-bottom;" /> <strong>-boRg- wrote:</strong><br /><br />To me the error:-<br><br>Error Connecting to database on SQL Server<br>"Login failed for user 'forums'.     <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forums.webwiz.net/member_profile.asp?PF=26963">Flapjack</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 24366<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 07&nbsp;September&nbsp;2007 at 10:18pm<br /><br />I am currently stuck at the "Web Wiz Forums Database Microsoft SQL Server Setup" page. &nbsp;<br><br>- I have installed both MS SQL Server Express and the MS SQL Server Management Studio Express. &nbsp;<br><br>- I have created a database called "Forums".&nbsp; <br><br>- I have created a user under Security &gt; Logins also called "forums". &nbsp;<br><br>- I have added the user "forums" to the Database I built under Security &gt; Users.&nbsp; After adding the user, I went into it's properties and set "dbo" as the default schema. &nbsp;<br><br>- For the two boxes underneath, I have checked every schema/role that seemed relevant. &nbsp;<br><br>- Under IIS, I created a virtual directory called "forums" and set the IUSR_MACHINENAME permissions for both read and write.<br><br>Which takes me to where I'm stuck.&nbsp; I enter http://localhost/forums/msSQL_server_setup.asp into the address bar and the Web Wiz setup page comes up.&nbsp; I have tried just about every kind of login combo I can think of.&nbsp; I've even replaced "DBO" with the user I created in SQL Server.<br><br>Depending on how I set the database_connection.asp file, I get two different error messages. &nbsp;<br><br><br>with the strSQLServerName set as: "COS-SITESRV\SQLEXPRESS", I get the following error message INSTANTLY:<br><br>Error Connecting to database on SQL Server<br>"Login failed for user 'forums'. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection."<br><br><br>With the strSQLServerName set at just "SQLEXPRESS", I get the following error message within 30 seconds:<br><br>Error Connecting to database on SQL Server<br>&#091;DBNETLIB&#093;&#091;ConnectionOpen (Connect()).&#093;SQL Server does not exist or access denied.<br><br><br>Here is my config file, with the password and server name changed.<br><br><br>&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;strSQLServerName = "FORUMSERVER\SQLEXPRESS" 'Holds the name of the SQL Server (This is the name/location or IP address of the SQL Server)<br>&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;strSQLDBUserName = "forums" 'Holds the user name (for SQL Server Authentication)<br>&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;strSQLDBPassword = "password" 'Holds the password (for SQL Server Authentication)<br>&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;strSQLDBName = "Forums"&nbsp;<span style="font-size:10px"><br /><br />Edited by Flapjack - 07&nbsp;September&nbsp;2007 at 10:19pm</span>]]>
