For legal reasons (I doubt you want to end up in court) ant-spam laws do not allow you to subscribe users to mailouts, they have to subscribe themselves.

However, it's quite easy for your users to do, they just need to go to the 'Subscriptions' tab in their Member Control Panel and select the forum to subscribe to. They will then get emails of any posts created in that forum.

You may want to create an announcement posts with instructions in so that your members can subscribe themselves to these forums.

Hi!

I've got a small forum set up and I'd like to have it configured so that every member belonging to a certain group gets an e-mail whenever a new topic is posted to the restricted area of the forum. 

Is there a way to subscribe certain users in this way?
