How do I re configure the default settings of the search mechanism so it always searches all dates.

And if you've made any modifications to code or the style sheets, put them back in, but otherwise, it's pretty painless and quick.

You can go to google.com and search for terms on any specific site. Below is our own example:

rambler site:theamcforum.com

That searches for the word "rambler" on our site - theamcforum.com
Interesting - I learned something. Since www.theamcforum.com ALSO points to our site, but it rarely used, it only got 2 pages of results where using the more common theamcforum.com got several pages of results!
I like the built-in search just fine and it works great. But if some are hooked on google, the above example will work. Put in the key word or words, then site: followed immediately by the site name.

For Altavista, you'd do host:theamcforum.com rambler

Most search engines have code that allow you to put a search box on your site that uses their engine.
