At the moment we are having to switch development to a new version of Web Wiz CAPTCHA as some spam bots have worked out some of the predefined images. Looking instead at building a version that builds the images on the fly from random numbers and letters.

You drag two files to it, the original, and the one you changed, and it points out the differences. You then document those differences. If that is done, it's not so hard to know which files changed, what the changes were, and use some automation to put your changes back, IF the mods will work with the NEW version.

Inside major versions, meaning say from 9.0x to 9.0y, few files change, and the changes are usually minor, so it's not so tough.

I found most of our mods made to 8.xx are going to port right over to 9.xx and in fact, most have already been applied in my home sandbox setup.

Some were actually easier to reapply in 9 than they were to make work in 8. Funny how this software just keeps getting better and cleaner.
