If you are using a version 6 or below then you simply open the databaseand read in the password. But as many people got hacked because theydidn't protect their database and hackers could get hold of thepasswords version 7.x has 160bit encryption of passwords so passwordscan not be recovered.

There are some work arounds to this like regsitering a new user thencopy and paste the password and salt fields across to admin accountfields. If you do a search of the forum this has been posted about anumber of times.

Hi, I havn't used my forum in a while and forgot my password.

Is there any way I can go into the databases or something else to find it. I don't think I have an email address set either =(
