    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forums.webwiz.net/member_profile.asp?PF=12115">wistex</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 8047<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 15&nbsp;December&nbsp;2003 at 12:59am<br /><br /><P>Yeah, I had the same issue come up when I created a Lurker group.&nbsp; When I first started my forum, new members went into a Newbie group and were given 1 star.&nbsp; I didn't&nbsp;want that, so I created a Lurker group and gave them 0 stars.&nbsp; I then had to go back and change every account that had 0 posts to the Lurker Group.</P><P>Lurker -&nbsp;0 posts / 0 Stars<BR>Newbie -&nbsp;1 posts / 1 Faded Star<BR>Newbie - 3 posts / 1 Star<BR>Member - 40 posts / 2 Stars<BR>etc.</P><P>It was a pain, but I liked the results better.&nbsp; Now I can look at the memberlist and see instantly and vividly who has posted and who hasn't.</P>]]>

There should be an admin option to rebuild user groups, like the sync post option.</P><P>Anyhow you've been a great help. Thanks.</P><P>PP</P><P>&nbsp;</P>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forums.webwiz.net/member_profile.asp?PF=12115">wistex</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 8047<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 14&nbsp;December&nbsp;2003 at 6:20am<br /><br /><P>If I am hearing you correctly, you are trying to convert from an older version of the forum, and then also want to change the ladder groups at the same time.</P><P>If this is the case, then this is why you are having problems:</P><P>People ONLY get promoted to the next ladder group when they POST.&nbsp; There is no other way for people to automatically get promoted.&nbsp; The next time the person posts, they will be promoted, but not before.</P><P>This leaves you with a couple options:</P><OL><LI>Leave it as it is and when users post, they will get promoted automatically.&nbsp; People who never post will not be promoted.</LI><LI>Manually change their group via the admin panel so that they start in the correct group.&nbsp; When they post, it will continue to promote them when necessary.</LI></OL><P>Simply changing the ladder groups will NOT change the groups of your members... until they post.</P>]]>

It's a strange behavior...<BR>I did convert&nbsp;the board from 6.41 to 7.6. Should I setup the user groiups before uploading the posts? I guess somebody has already had this problem as long as they have create new categories and changed category names.</P><P>Yesterday I erased all posts (not the users) and converted the board again. No luck! First time I have converted the board and then made the changes at the user groups. No luck also. Last remaining atempt is to erase all users and posts, setup the groups and then convert again... but I call for help cause somebody could help me in between trials.</P><P>regads<BR></P>]]>

It appears that is working but with a totally diferent scale.</P><P>PP</P>]]>
