I figured it out.  I now have IE 6.x and Windows XP working with the webwiz forums.  Talking about something stupid.  Somehow the server date was changes by 2 years!.  So when it tried to right the cookie it was writing one that XP and IE 6 was saying was already expired! Reset the date on the server and WHAM it worked.

I too am having this problem.  Unfortunately, the only site that seems to give me trouble is my own!  I can't login to it.  I have spent the better part of the past three days trying to fix it with no success.  I am downloading firebird as I type.  Borg, when you say delete cookies and cached internet files, do you mean simply go to "internet options" in IE, and click the delete cookies and delete files buttons?  Because I have done that a dozen times with no success.  Is there more to it?  Do you have other suggestions?

No, IE has a known cookie index bug, when the cookie index becomescorrupted it means that cookies work on some sites but not on others asthe cookie index is corrupted relating to certain sites.

The only way to reset the cookie index in IE is to do as I explained in my previous post on the subject.

The only web site I have come across that Mozilla Firebird didn't workin was the Windows Update site as it uses an IE active X thing to checkyour computer for the latest updates. But thats no problem, I just fireup IE for the Windows Update the rest of the time I'm using MozillaFirebird.

The RTE post editor for this forum also works in Mozilla and in someways the Mozilla Midas API implemetation of RTE features is better thenIE, you don't get the double line spacing when hitting return and thereare some neat scaling features when changing the size of things likeimages and tables.

I agree with this. I have changed over to firebird and will never use IE again..

I wasn't at first but after playing with it for a bit to test the forumin I was so impressed with the speed, less bugs, and more functionalityit quickly became my default browser and really can't see why anyonewould want to use IE anymore.
