Not really sure what you are on about, in what way is it fluctuating, try reuploading files it may sort out the problem.<br><br>2. Looks like it could be the database drivers on the server are notcompatible with the online compact and repair. You will need to do thistask in MS Access on your own machine.<br><br>3. The file that does the actual email sending has not been changed, somore likly a mail server problem, but it CDOSYS is working then stickwith it as aspmail will give the errors you mention if there areproblems connecting to the mail server. CODNTS uses the local mailserver so doesn't has as many problems.]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forums.webwiz.net/member_profile.asp?PF=4962">Aaron P</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 8516<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 03&nbsp;January&nbsp;2004 at 5:10am<br /><br /><P>&nbsp;I just upgraded from 6.29 to 7.6 using the migration tool and am experiencing the following errors.</P><P>First, my users' group levels seem to be fluctuating somewhat randomly.&nbsp; I am not sure if this is somehow related to the ladder system conflicting with me 'forcing' a users group level, or if it is evident of a deeper problem.</P><P>Second.&nbsp; When I attempt to compact the database in forum administration I get the following error:</P><P>Microsoft JET Database Engine <FONT face=Arial size=2>error '80040e17'</FONT> <P><FONT face=Arial size=2>Database already exists.</FONT> <P><FONT face=Arial size=2>/cgi-bin/wwforum/admin/compact_access_db.asp</FONT><FONT face=Arial size=2>, line 124</FONT> </P><P>Third (not sure if it si relevant) when I first uploaded the script&nbsp;I was getting all sorts of errors and timeouts.&nbsp; I somehow narrowed it down to the email settings.&nbsp; I had the same settings (aspmail) as I used in my old forums, but it seemed to be giving me errors.&nbsp; I switched to CDONTS and the problem has appeared to go away.&nbsp; BUT I am pretty sure that my site is running on a windows 2003 machine.&nbsp; Should I be using CDOSYS?&nbsp; Or is this a case of "if it aint broke dont fix it...?"</P><P>Thanks in advance for your help.</P>]]>
