Author: sandy771
Subject: 9131
Posted: 22 January 2004 at 4:19am

Each time the forum is upgraded I have a need to modify a number of files to get it in to line with my needs. It would be excellent if the following would be considered.

1. e-mail notification copied to admin when a new member registers.

I run a closed forum and after new member has confirmed his/her e-mail address I then manually activate their account, so

2. e-mail notification to admin after user has confirmed e-mail address

Once I have activated account I manually send an e-mail to inform the user that account is now active - so

3. e-mail to user when account activated.

4. Finally, each of the e-mails I send is hard coded, it would be excellent if for each e-mail sent by the forum there was a way to configure it within the forum without modifying the forum code. This would make the upgrade from 7.6 to 7.7 a doddle - i.e. just replace code don't worry about re-editing any of my modified files.

I would suggest that a neat way of doing this might be to have a forum admin section for e-mail events. i.e. when a certain event occurs send seelcted e-mail to user and.or admin.

Cheers
