Thanks for the advice so far.  I apologize for my ignorance, but what is likely to result if I just overwrite the v7.0beta3 files with v7.7?  Is there a way to test the result without bringing down my test forum?  I've found the 6-->7 conversion utility.  Perhaps I could try running it in a test environment?

Any suggestions welcome!

Version 7 beta 3 was a beta version from more than a year ago and wasnever intended for live web sites as it was for testing purposes onlyand had a number of bugs and security issues.

Upgrading to the latest version won't be simple and it will probally beeasier starting afresh with a new install of the latest version.

Quite so.  I'm at 7 beta 3.  My site is not yet live, but I have been testing for a couple of months & would prefer not to lose my existing data or have to go through too much grief in the conversion.

There wasn't a version 7.0 beta 0.

Beta versions, as it said on the download page, where for testingpurposes only and not for live web sites, so there is no upgradeavailable , your only choice is to go through the version history filelooking for database changes and make those changes to your databasemanually, then update all the files in your forum.
