The error means that you don't have the correct permissions to write tothe database, see the common errors documentration that comes with theforum.

XP is a bad OS for hosting your own site, it only allows 10coonnections to the server, this means that only 2 or 3 people can viewyour site at a time.

To host your own site you need to use a full blown server OS's like Windows 2000 server or Windows server 2003

Exposing IIS on your home PC is very dangerous unless you have a throurough understanding of how to lock it down, firewalls, port blocking, etc.

Hi, I'm totally new to forum making...no...make that an idiot...but the interface of this boards intrigues me. I was wondering if its possible to host a forum board from my home pc on a WinXP Pro platform. What are the stuffs I need and how to I get it going...is there any books that I can buy to get help on this forum software? or any startup guide for learner...sorry if I sound really silly.

I'm using Access as the database. Tried running it but got error as follows:
